The Goal:
In a group of three, we were tasked with creating a heart rate signal processor in MATLAB given ECG data.

Project Description:
There were three types of breathing that the ECG measured the heartrate during: resting, exercise, and box breathing. From this data, we used MATLAB to mark the peaks of the ECG, thus being able to calculate a heartrate from the data. Finally, we used the peak data to line up all of the heartbeats in an overlay to get an average heartbeat.

What went right:
We were able to graph the heartbeats and mark the peaks and our bar graphs displayed correct data.

What went wrong:
At this point, we had only been learning MATLAB for two weeks, so the project itself was very difficult. However, my group persevered and turned in something we could all be proud of.

Outcome:
As I say above, this project was difficult. On top of being the first primarily coding project I had undertaken and my relative inexperience in MATLAB, this project pushed what I thought it was possible for me to do. It made me more confident as I went further and began ever more difficult projects and challenges.
